State Winner!

Vaibhav Mohanty has won first place in the middle school musical competition category of the state PTA Reflections contest. His original composition will now be entered in the national competition, with winners announced in May. This first place musical composition award is a first for FoJo, too. Way to go, Vaibhav!
Attention FoJo Parents:
Please contact Mrs. Ciucci if you would be willing to showcase your career on career day, scheduled for April 1, from 10 - 1:15 in our school gym. We are seeking professionals with various educational backgrounds to represent the 16 different career clusters.

Attention FoJo Families
In the
coming weeks, we will be working on a fund-raising project called Kids for Wish Kids®. This project is designed to raise funds for
the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of South
Carolina. The
Make-A-Wish Foundation® is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to
children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human
experience with hope, strength and joy.
Here at Fort
Johnson, we have adopted
a local five year old girl with Leukemia whose wish is to visit Disney World.
Please
help us with the Kids for Wish Kids Program® by showing support for
our upcoming fundraiser. The schedule of
fundraising events is as follows:
- March 8 –
12: “Star Wars” and FoJo Share-The-Power Bracelets: Stars will be sold for
$.25 each during lunch and strung in each grade wing for a star wars
competition. Blue bracelets will
also be sold during lunch for $1.00 each.
- March 22 –
26: Baked goods week: Baked goodies
will be sold during lunches
- April 12 –
16: Coin Drives: FoJo will join schools across South Carolina to collect coins to
contribute to our adopted child’s wish.
Top home room contributors will earn great
prizes, including pizza parties and a possible party at an upcoming Riverdogs
Game! If you have any questions, or
would like to make a tax deductible donation, please contact me at 762-5541 or Erica_ciucci@ccsdschools.com.
ATTENTION 8TH GRADE PARENTS:
Please ask your children about the high school registration materials that will be sent home on March 24. These will include a Freshman Academy Program of Studies, Course Registration Sheets with teacher recommendations, and Registration Guide. Course Selection Sheets are due back to school by March 30. Students will register for their classes on March 30 or March 31. Contact Mrs. Ciucci or the 9th grade counselors (Erin Brandon or Audrey Smith) for specific questions, and please plan to attend Rising 9th Grade Info Night at JICHS on March 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the JICHS Cafeteria.
The new "Visitor Management System" goes into effect Monday, March 15. You should receive information about the system from your child Friday, March. That information can also be accessed at the links below.
